Shifts ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

When you use Shifts, we collect the following information:

• Account information — your display name and email address when you create an account.
• Shift data — the shifts, attendance logs, and vacation days you enter into the app.
• Profile information — your university, rotation year, and hospital settings.
• Profile photo — if you choose to upload one.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and sync the app's core features across devices.
• To show your shifts to friends you have connected with in the app.
• To send push notifications about upcoming shifts (only if you grant permission).

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party cloud database provider. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not sell your data to any third parties.

Friends & Shared Data

When you connect with friends in Shifts, they can see your shift schedule. You are in full control of your friend connections and can remove them at any time from the Friends screen.

Push Notifications

We may send push notifications to remind you of upcoming shifts. You can disable notifications at any time from your device's Settings.

Face ID / Biometrics

If you enable Face ID, biometric data is processed entirely on your device by Apple's frameworks and is never transmitted to or stored by us.

Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Profile Info → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Children's Privacy

Shifts is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
